CHILDREN’S BACKPACK: GREGORY ICARUS
A REAL BUDDY FOR LITTLE EXPLORERS
For spring 2019, GREGORY is introducing the new Icarus youth backpack: a generously featured backpack with a sophisticated suspension system that’s specially tailored to the requirements of small people. The VersaFit suspension system has a comfortable fit on the back and good ventilation. The back length is adjustable so that it grows together with the child. All features are specifically designed to suit budding explorers; from the zips to the segmentation and the user-friendliness.
The Icarus is specially designed for youngsters. Little backpackers shouldn’t have to tussle with an uncomfortable backpack that might put them off hiking. Just like the adult backpacks from GREGORY, carry comfort and ventilation are top priorities with the Icarus, ensuring their first trail experience will be the first of many to come.
The back panel, hipbelt and shoulder straps wrap comfortably around the body. The back length is easy to adjust by simply pushing the shoulder strap plate up or down and fixing it in place with a hook-and-loop strap. In this way, the Icarus keeps pace with children’s growth spurts. The organization options are simple and easy to fathom for children: A dedicated bottom compartment offers quick access to a sleeping bag or extra layers. The stretch mesh stuff pocket on the front keeps a rain jacket or sandals safely stowed. Smaller items like snacks or a headlamp can go in the lid pocket and a drinks bottle is easy to get at in the mesh side pockets. There is a trekking pole attachment loop with quick-attach shock lock. The sternum strap is equipped with a safety whistle, so kids can call for attention in an emergency. Webbing loops to attach gear are reflective so the pack can also be easily located in the dark. Custom comfort grip moulded zipper pulls make opening and closing the individual compartments easier.
The Icarus pack is available from spring 2019 in two different sizes (30 and 40 litres) and in the colours Hyper Blue and Capri Green.
