The Chair One is the original of a new kind of transportable chairs – and at the same time it is the heart and soul of the international brand Helinox. Its savvy construction breaks with all conventions on how such chairs normally “have” to look. The Chair One combines easy handling, low weight, a unique look and above all else: loads of comfort. Beach vacation, trekking tour, campervan trip, fishing or a BBQ in the backyard – no matter what you do, Helinox Chair One is the ultimate all-rounder.
Sometimes, but seldom, someone has the brilliant idea of how to completely change an existing product and make it even better in the process. Admittedly, Helinox did not reinvent the wheel, but they did reinvent the transportable chair. The Chair One breaks with all paradigms on how such a chair “has” to look and it became an unbelievable success. Therefore it has turned somehow into the heart and soul of Helinox. It won several innovation or design awards and is being heavily copied these days. But with respect to the high quality DAC frame, well-designed and -manufactured seat covers and the originality of Chair One the brand claims leadership in this market category.
The chair weighs 860 grams (without the included case) and the packing size roughly equals a large vacuum bottle. Similar to upper class tent poles, the Chair One’s DAC aluminium pole frame is linked by elastic bands. Thus the poles almost “find” the right position and the chair nearly self-assembles. While the DAC aluminium poles also guarantee low weight, most notably they deliver great stability.
Helinox equips the seat with highly breathable mesh inlays on the back and on the sides. This is why the chair delivers effective ventilation and great comfort – even on hot days. The Chair One comes in black, red, green and coyote tan at a recommended retail price of 100 Euro.
Helinox also cares for the needs of kids and tall people. Besides the standard version, they also produce the Chair One Mini, Chair One L and Chair One XL (RRPs: 75 Euro, 120 Euro, 145 Euro).
